# Adding a New Inventory Item

**Adding a New Inventory Item from the Main Menu**

1. Select ‘Inventory’ from the Main Menu
2. Select ‘New’
3. Enter in all of the Inventory Item information in the fields
  1. Supplier, Category, Model, and Subcategory are required.
  2. [The Supplier must be created before creating an inventory item](/v1/docs/adding-a-new-supplier)
4. Enter in all of the pricing information
5. Select ‘Post’ to add the item to inventory (This does not affect quantity; it only adds the item into Furniture Wizard)
