Microsoft will no longer support the Remote Desktop App starting May 27, 2025. To ensure continued access to Furniture Wizard Software, all users must transition to the Windows App. After May 27, 2025, users will no longer have access to Furniture Wizard Software through Remote Desktop.

This article will guide you through identifying whether you are using the older Remote Desktop App or the Windows App. It will also walk you through the steps to determine if a migration to the new Windows App is necessary.

Determine which app you are using.

If your icon looks like the one in the image below, you are using the old app, and you need to migrate to the new Windows App (See steps for migrating below). If your icon does not look like this, then you do not need to do anything else. You currently have the most up-to-date app

Download and install the new “Windows App.”

You only need to continue with this and the following steps if your icons look like the image above.

A. Click the start menu and open the “Microsoft Store.” You may need to type in the search box to find the “Microsoft Store” program. See images below for assistance.

B. After the “Microsoft Store” loads, search for the “Windows App” program and install it.

C. Once downloaded, open the “Windows App.” Click “Skip” on the introduction message if prompted.

D. Sign in with your Furniture Wizard cloud username/password. If you do not know this, please email help@furniturewizard.com and request your username/password.

E. Once you are signed in, your screen will look like the images below. Please remember when clicking on the program icons, only single-click. Double-clicking will cause the program to launch incorrectly.

F. Pin the “Windows App” program to the taskbar. You will not be able to put a shortcut to Furniture Wizard on the desktop or start menu. Microsoft eliminated that feature with this update. See the image below for a guide on how to pin the “Windows App” icon.
