This field allows you to scan the Vendor’s barcode label in addition to a Furniture Wizard barcode. The UPC will be linked to the corresponding item in your inventory, which will both speed up the receiving and physical inventory processes. Furniture Wizard will still generate a scannable barcode for each item regardless of entering the vendor’s UPC.
Examples
In my warehouse I have a mattress by Sleep Dr. It is referred to as the Madison, and it comes in all sizes, and there is a Pillow Top, Firm, and Plush version. When I order it from the vendor over the phone, I tell them that I want a Madison queen pillow top, a full pillow top, and a firm queen – and when they bill me I see on the vendor invoice a line that shows an item number (from the vendor) for the Madison queen pillow top that says 154601-1050, the full says 154601-1040, and the firm queen says 154602-1050. When I look at the mattresses in the warehouse, I find a label from the vendor on each mattress. Each label has two barcodes: One says S/N and has a series of numbers below the barcode – it appears that the S/N is different for each item and is unique. The other barcode says UPC and has 0100052625 underneath it for the queen pillow top, 0100052622 for the full pillow top, and 0100052630 for the firm queen.
